Rest.

Most triathletes neglect this word.

Why?

Because we’re all crazy and just want to train, train, train. However, rest can be your best friend. These past couple weeks I’ve had achilles pain along with shin problems, so I decided to take a week off. It’s been nice having extra time to relax, but I can’t help but feel lazy!

It’s important to listen to your body and take a break from working out when you’re injured. Even though my leg injuries aren’t super serious, I think it was important to take time off to let them heal before they became serious.

I’m supposed to run 10 miles tomorrow, but Boston was just hit with a big snowstorm. This might result in another healing day, or a very long treadmill run. Stay tuned…
